Incarnation

What is the incarnation
But God’s embodied presence?
A complete divine infilling.
A sync of God with us.

To Mary came a promise,
That the a baby would be born,
By the Holy Spirit’s power,
He would be the son of God.

From Mary came acceptance,
And the child began to grow,
‘Til in a borrowed room one day
The son of God was born.

A collision occurred in Mary,
Between the carnal and divine.
By the Holy Spirit’s power
The incarnation began.

It was not only meant for Mary,
God loves the whole wide world,
For the Holy Spirit’s power,
Touches all humanity.

God still comes to such as Mary,
And promises new birth,
By the Holy Spirit’s power,
You can be a child of God.

For the very point of Christmas
Is that God came to live in us,
To develop as a baby would,
‘Till God’s will and ours are one.

While for Mary it was special,
Incarnation still proceeds,
Where open hearts and lives like hers
Say “Let God’s will be done”.

‘Til like the grown up Jesus,
God’s will is our desire,
And love, and truth and justice,
Sets the pattern of our life.

For love is Jesus nature,
And the God who lived through him,
Calls us into his own kingdom,
A bridge ‘tween earth and heaven.

That kingdom is not just future,
But a very present need,
So that God’s incarnate presence,
Brings God’s children do his will.

No need to walk in darkness,
God has given a great light,
And all who choose to walk in it,
Will see salvation come.

So our prayer in this Christmas season
Is that Jesus be born anew,
Not in a manger long ago,
But now in me and you.
